Application:
The KC Denmarks box corer’s series is a marine geological sampling tool for soft sediment in lakes or oceans. It is deployed from a research vessel with a deep sea wire and suitable for any water depth. It is designed for a minimum of disturbance of the sediment surface by bow wave effects which is important for quantitative investigations of the benthos micro- to macrofauna, geochemical processes, sampling of bottom water or sedimentology.

The KC box corer frame is manufactured from 100 x 100 x 6 mm square AISI 316 steel tube and electro polished.

Our KC box corer 2500 cm², 50 cm penetration, is also available with 60 cm penetration (80.250-60).

Sediment Sampler 1 bottle 5 L

28.600 – Sediment trap, 5 L:

Application:
High volume sediment trap used to investigate the vertical flux of particles in the water column and the trap can be deployed in both oceans and inland waters. The trap comes with upper/lower bridles so more traps can be connected in series, the sediment trap station is capable of operating in full oceanographic depth.

Sediment trap for 12 or 24 bottles

Application:
Sediment sampling with time lapsed trigger. Max. depth 6000 m depending of battery used. (100.217 for 4000 m or 100.226 for 6000 m). Optional: Outer frame (28.522) with gyro functionality. The standard battery and electronics come with a sleep mode functionality allowing deployment up to 12 months. For longer immersions we can provide larger batteries.

Models available:
The funnel has an internal diameter of 570 mm (0,25 m²) or 800 mm (0,5 m²). As per below list both sizes are available with either 12 or 24 bottles. IMPORTANT: One bottle remains open during the deployment, so useable number of bottles is only 11 or 23.

Plankton nets in various mesh sizes

Plankton net are available in many sizes, width 1 m. Can be delivered in any length, up to 30 m, minimum sale is 1 m (1 m²). Please note, that we may receive various widths from our supplier, but minimum width is always 1 m; sometimes we receive rolls of 1,15 or 1,3 m. If the width exceeds 1 m, the length is reduced accordingly.

The upper part of the net is made of strong Beaver nylon. Standard mounting with 3 pcs. of polyester line Ø5 mm. with bridles, length 80 cm.

The conical net bag with an upper diameter of 50 cm and a length of 200 cm is made of Monodur Nytal (Nylon) 50 to 500 µm. order no. 23.020 or 20-40 µm 23.020A.

The sample can be removed through a valve at the bottom of the sample cylinder.

Plankton nets are available in all types and sizes.

Van Dorn water sampler

11.xxx series – Van Dorn water samplers 2, 3 and 5 L:

Application:

The horizontal Van Dorn water sampler is intended for taking water samples near the bottom in lakes, streams, or in stratified water bodies. The water sampler is based on the Van Dorn design. When the 2 rubber end covers are released, they are held together by a rubber strap.

The sampler is made of a sturdy transparent acrylic tube and has a double releaser, activated by a drop messenger. The release system is manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel. The Van Dorn comes with the drop messenger.

All Van Dorn models have been re-designed for better performance and now the steering fins are integrated into the sampler, ensuring a better stabilization in flowing water.
